Concord – E. Bruce Gallagher, age 64, of Jennifer Drive died on Thursday (6/23)
at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH
He was born in Haverhill, MA the son of the late Edward R. and Irma J. (Eaton)
Gallagher. Bruce was confirmed at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Haverhill, MA
at 13 years old. He was a graduate of the Haverhill High School class of 1958,
where he was pitcher on the All Star baseball team. He received his Bachelors
degree in Accounting from Northeastern University class of 1963.
He was a Veteran of the Untied States Army where he was ranked 1st Lieutenant.
Bruce worked as a Special Agent for the FBI for 29 years specializing in bank
robberies, hostage negotiations, and law enforcement training, retiring from the
FBI in 1994. He was appointed to the Attorney General’s office of NH and worked
as a Special Investigator for 10 years before his retirement in 2004.
Bruce sold Real Estate with his wife through Kathleen Gallagher Family Realty,
and was a member of the Concord Board of Realtors and NHAR.
He was a longtime member and past president of the Concord Country Club, founder
of the South Bowie Boys and Girls Club, a member and past president of the
Bowie, MD Jaycees, a co - founder of the Hampstead Civic Club. He was also a
member of the AARDIES Army State Drug Task Force and was a member of the Demolay,
Haverhill Chapter.
Bruce owned 21 race horses, Kalamara was his most famous horse. He was a
longtime Youth Baseball and Soccer coach.
He was an avid golfer including 4 holes-in-one. He enjoyed fishing, bowling,
darts, playing cards, board games, and crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen S. (Carnevale) Gallagher of Concord; 3
daughters, Lora Gallagher-Smith of Charlottesville, VA, Nancy I. Gallagher of
the Concord area, and Julie Mento of Warner; 1 son, Matthew C. Gallagher of
Collegeville, PA, a stepson William M. Perkins of Northboro, MA, and
stepdaughter, Brenda K. Perkins Anukem of Concord; 10 grandchildren, and many
beloved family members and friends
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday (6/26) from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the
Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH
Funeral Services will be held on Monday (6/27) at 11 AM at the Grace Capital
Church in Pembroke. -
Directions
Burial will be at 1 PM at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. -
